Our Agenda for both Options 1 & 2

September 26 & 27, 2023

Introduction
Stephanie Woerner
Creating an Outside-In Customer Focus: Developing a Domain Orientation
Peter Weill
Despite becoming more customer-centric, companies in most industries, including banking, automotive and utilities, often focus on fulfilling only part of the complete customer journey when developing their digital offerings. But these companies leave value on the table because customers gravitate toward those companies that can meet their end-to-end needs for daily life, home, mobility, or their business. We call these needs, domains. Operating with a domain orientation requires an outside-in focus on creating value from digital because domains span industries, but the shift is worth it. Domain-oriented companies perform better on revenue growth and profitability. Peter will describe what it takes to become a domain orientated company, including the capabilities needed to engage with customers and partners in new ways.
Lessons from a CEO: The Opportunities of Becoming Future Ready
Peter Weill with Fernando A. González, CEO of Cemex
During this pre-recorded interview session, Fernando González will share his experiences and insights on Cemex's digital transformation.
Update on Future Ready
Stephanie Woerner
In 2017, MIT CISR unveiled a framework describing what a Future Ready company looks like, the four viable pathways for digital business transformation, and the four types of organizational explosions that companies need to manage as they transform. In this session, Stephanie will present the latest survey data on the Future Ready framework and highlight recent challenges and opportunities of digital business transformation.
Creating Effective AI-enabled Customer Journeys
Renee Richardson Gosline
At many firms, artificial intelligence (AI) has become the go-to tool for creating frictionless experiences and removing impediments that slow down efficient customer journeys. Companies, however, need to incorporate more “good friction” into their customer journeys, as frictionless strategies can lead to harm.  In this session, Renee will describe how AI affects customer experience, the difference between good and bad friction and how to add “good friction” to your customer journeys.
