- I've always been fascinated with how people work together and how they coordinate in challenging situations using digital technologies. In my doctoral work, I studied how clinician teams in a trauma center use an EHR system to coordinate, and I saw great coordination but I also saw coordination breakdowns with lives on the line, so this is important. And in all the digital contexts I study at MIT CISR, coordination is important as well. I've seen it in digital transformation, I've seen it in employee experience, and most recently in our research on ecosystems. So, we know that companies have to partner to grow faster in the digital era, and to do that successfully, they have to develop a set of capabilities for coordination. We call this partnering strength, and it's a strong predictor of performance. In the 2020 research, we will continue the digital partnering research with a focus on value creation and value capture models, and we will also study data sharing across company boundaries, which is another important aspect of coordination. I am very much looking forward to engage with you if you're interested in joining our research.
