Abstract: Beginning 2013, amidst great competitive pressures, Sprint Corporation shifted its business strategy from customer base growth to the delivery of a compelling customer value proposition. Sprint’s strategic shift required the company to develop new marketplace offerings and to deliver them exceptionally fast, which prompted a cultural transformation referred to across the organization as “the New Normal.” Sprint IT played a key role in inspiring and delivering upon New Normal initiatives. To achieve the requisite pace, IT leveraged capabilities that it had been building in recent years: contemporary infrastructure and platforms, a judicious business project investment process, agile development, and a returns-focused project launch management process.
